Description
Idaho is the fifth biggest producing cherry state in the United States.
The cherry fruits of commerce usually are obtained from a limited number of species such as cultivars of the sweet cherry, Prunus avium. The name 'cherry' also refers to the cherry tree, and is sometimes applied to almonds and visually similar flowering trees in the genus Prunus, as in "ornamental cherry" or "cherry blossom".

Wonderful image of these cherries still on the vine, Robert! It has been awhile since I've been in Idaho but one of my best memories is sitting along the Snake River watching the sunset while eating smoked trout and Idaho cherries for dinner. l/f
