Artist's Description
We had a lot of rain yesterday so I went out to get some rain drops on the iris.
This beautiful wet Iris would look great on your wall!!
Irises are perennial plants, growing from creeping rhizomes (rhizomatous irises) or, in drier climates, from bulbs (bulbous irises). They have long, erect flowering stems which may be simple or branched, solid or hollow, and flattened or have a circular cross-section. The rhizomatous species usually have 3 to 10 basal sword-shaped leaves growing in dense clumps. The bulbous species have cylindrical, basal leaves.
The iris flower is of interest as an example of the relation between flowering plants and pollinating insects. About Robert Bales
I am a retired teacher, coach, and athletic director. While my wife, Judy, and I were teaching she had a photo studio, and I had a dark room where I did black and white and color. Over our 50 years of marriage, we have always had an interest in photography and both of us enjoy taking the photos for this site. I have always used Cannon cameras and now I am using the 7D for most of the...
