Description
A Mocking Bird resting on a branch waiting for its turn on the feeder!
The Northern Mockingbird, Mimus polyglottos, is the only mockingbird commonly found in North America. This species was first described by Linnaeus in his Systema Natu in 1758 as Turdus polyglottos.
The Northern Mockingbird breeds in southeastern Canada, the United States, northern Mexico, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, and the Greater Antilles. It is replaced further south by its closest living relative, the Tropical Mockingbird. The Socorro Mockingbird, an endangered species, is also closely related, contrary to the previous opinions. The bird is the state bird of Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas

Very fine portrait. I love listening to mockingbirds. We have them here. We also have several species of thrashers. They are mimids like mockingbirds, but they don't have the repertoire. Still, they are nice to listen to. I get Curve-billed Thrashers in my yard.

I also enjoy listening to them in the morning!! This seems like it is like the top of the grapefruit tree!! Thanks for the comments!!
