Description
Two moose are seen alongside a water body, with one resting in the grass and the other partially submerged in the water. Lush greenery surrounds the scene, creating a tranquil natural setting.
On a warm day while visiting the Grand Teton National Park I spotted this moose cooling off.
The largest member of the deer family, an adult male (bull) moose averaging 6 feet tall at the shoulder and can weigh as much as 1,400 pounds; females (cows) are smaller. Heavy-bodied with a hump on their shoulder, moose have large, almost horse-like heads, with a flap of skin that hangs beneath the chin.
