Description
Spend the weekend camping and fishing at Fortuna Pond with some friends and just before eating this beautiful sunset was forming. It is only about 12 miles from my house so I think I need to return for more fun and photos.
Fortuna Pond is a popular camping and fishing destination in the Yuma area. During the winter months, largemouth bass, channel catfish, sunfish and rainbow trout can be caught in the 8.5-acre pond. You may fish from the shore or utilize a small boat. The site is open year-round; however, Yumas summer temperatures can reach 120 degrees, so please prepare accordingly if you plan on visiting in the summer months.
This site is co-managed by Bureau of Land Management, Arizona Game and Fish Department, and Bureau of Reclamation. This site is subject to seasonal fire restrictions each summer.
Permits or fees are not required. There are no facilities at the site. You may camp on site for up to 14 days and you can drive and camp within 25 feet of the shore. In addition to existing rules and regulations, there are supplemental rules which are used to help manage this campground.
