Description
A picturesque coastal landscape is shown with a sandy beach bordered by a forested cliffside. Gentle waves wash onto the shore while a clear blue sky completes this serene setting.
Long Beach is aptly named, for at 28 miles, it is the longest natural beach in the United States. Known for the year-round mild weather, visitors will find plenty to see and do in Long Beach,
The beach is dog friendly and popular for horseback rides. Like many other seaside towns, Long Beach is fun for the whole family with carousel and carnival rides, arcades, bumper cars and many more activities.
Take a stroll on the popular boardwalk while enjoying the view of the majestic ocean and pristine beach. Crossing beneath the Boardwalk leads to the Discovery Trail which travels through dunes from north Long Beach into Ilwaco. This trail is just one of the monuments dedicated to Lewis and Clark located through town.
Every August the Washington State International Kite Festival brings hundreds of kite flyers. Be sure to stop by the World Kite Museum and Hall of Fame which features the history of kite flying, photographs and every kind of kite imaginable. Many other festivals provide entertainment such as Sandsations, a sand building competition held every year in July.
