While at the howling at the moon event in Foothills , Arizona we watch the Wolf Moon rise over the Gila Mountains with the Sonoran Desert in the foreground.
January’s full moon is called a Wolf Moon.
In 2018 the full Wolf Moon will take place on January 2.
It was named for the howling of wolves that would often be heard outside Native American villages in January
